Tournament shuttle buses

There will be shuttle bus service operating between all field areas and hotels provided by organizers during the whole tournament. In the evening the buses will get you to all evening events including Opening ceremony, Trading night and Closing ceremony from your hotel and back to your hotel thereafter.

On Saturday, July 3rd upon arrival the shuttle bus will take you from check-in area at Strahov to your hotel. The buses will be free of charge for all participants having valid badges (players, coaches, guests etc).

The transport from airport will not be arranged by WUCC organizers. Use the public tranportation (see below) or Sedop taxi company.

On Saturday July 10th the shuttle bus will get you from your hotel to the Discraft field where the finals will be played.

During the regular playing days (Sunday - Friday) the buses will go every 20 min. from 6:30 to 20:00 on this route:
Hotel Juno – Hotel Rhea – Hotel Fortuna city – Vrsovice centre – Manes (Prague downtown) – Strahov dorms – Strahov fields – Kosire fields
and back.
Where to get on:
The stops will be marked with the WUCC 2010 logo and time table. There will be sign-posts and tracks on the ground showing you way to the nearest bus stop.

Taxi

The official taxi company of WUCC 2010 is SEDOP taxi Praha. They offer fares that are cheaper than you’d get for a taxi on the street. We strongly recommend you use Sedop for hiring a taxi – don’t risk a dishonest driver and paying much more then you have to.

Public transportation

There will be many road closings in Prague in the summer. Most of the trams will not go their usual routes.

We recommend those routes to Strahov for check-in:

  • From Ruzyne Airport (35 - 45 min, 15 stops)

Bus 119 from “Letiste Ruzyne” to “Dejvicka” (21 min, 9 stops)
Then bus 217 from “Dejvicka” to “Koleje Strahov” (12 min, 6 stops)

  • From the Main train station (30-40 min, 12 stops)

Metro line C from “Hlavni nadrazi” (directly from the station) to “Muzeum” (1 min, 1 stop)
Then metro line A from “Muzeum” to “Dejvicka” (7 min, 5 stops)
Then bus 217 from “Dejvicka” to “Koleje Strahov” (12 min, 6 stops)

  • From the Main train station (other option) (25-35 min, 14 stops)

Metro line C from "Hlavni nadrazi" to "Florenc" (2 min, 1 stops)
Then matro line B from "Florenc" to "Karlovo namesti" (6 min, 4 stops)
Then bus 176 from “Karlovo namesti” to “Stadion Strahov” (13 min, 9 stops)

  • From the bus station Florenc (18-25 min, 12 stops)

Then metro B from “Florenc” to “Andel” (7 min, 5 stops)
Then bus 217 from “Andel” to “Koleje Strahov” (11 min, 7 stops)

  • From the bus station Florenc (other option) (22-30 min, 13 stops)

Metro C from “Florenc” to “Muzeum” (3 min, 2 stops)
Then metro A from “Muzeum” to “Dejvicka” (7 min, 5 stops)
Then bus 143 or 217 from “Dejvicka” to “Koleje Strahov” (12 min, 6 stops)

HOW TO GET FROM THE VRSOVICE FIELDS:

  • To Strahov (35-45 min, 20 stops)

Take a tram 6, 22 or 24 from "Kubanske namesti" to "Karlovo namesti" (cca 20 min, 13/11/12 stops), then change to bus 176 from "Karlovo namesti" to "Stadion Strahov" (14 min, 8 stops), then on foot go forward and around the huge stadium - there will be signposts

  • To Fortuna City Hotel (7 min, 4 stops)

Take tram 7 from “Kubanske namesti to “Solidarita”.

  • To Rhea Hotel (9 min, 5 stops)

Tram 7 from “Kubanske namesti” to “Zborov - Strasnicke divadlo”.

  • To Juno Hotel (5-10 min, 3 stops)

Tram 7 from “Kubanske namesti” to “Strasnicka” (3 min, 2 stops). Then take bus 175 or 224 from “Strasnicka”
to “Stechovicka” (2 min, 1 stop).

  • To Prague airport (45-60 min, 21 stops)

Tram 7 from “Kubanske namesti” to “Strasnicka” (4 min, 2 stops). Then take metro A/Green line from “Strasnicka” to “Dejvicka” (16 min, 10 stops). Then bus 119 from “Dejvicka” to “Letiste Ruzyne” (21 min, 9 stops).

There are buses, trams and underground (metro) operating in Prague. The public transport is quite cheap; one transfer ticket costing CZK 26 (for children 6-15 years 15 CZK) will allow you to travel by all means of transport for 75 to 90 minutes. Non transfer ticket for 20 minutes in tram or bus or 5 stations in underground costs CZK 18. You can purchase the tickets at vending machines, which are located in metro station foyers, or at newspaper and tobacco stands. You can also buy a one-day pass (CZK 100) or a multiple-day pass (3 days CZK 330, 5 days CZK 500).

Tickets can be bought via SMS sent to number 90206, the price is CZK 26 + the price of the SMS. However this is only possible if you have a Czech SIM card.

Operation of metro starts at 5:00 and terminates at midnight. There are night trams and buses covering the main routes however having longer intervals during night. All trams do meet in Lazarska station in the centre of Prague at the same moment so you can change there. The price for night service is the same as during the day.

Travelling by car

We do not recommend going to the city center by car. Use the public transportation as much as possible. You’ll have problems finding a parking spot and you are not allowed to park in blue parking zones (reserved for residence and offices).
Please do not leave any valuables in your car, car burglary and theft are common crimes in Prague.
